Writing Retreat: A Short Recap

Earlier this year, I saw one of my favorite speakers/authors was hosting his very last writing retreat. I saw the email 2 weeks almost too late where he announced that there were only a few spots left. I remember praying in that moment and saying “Jesus, if I’m meant to go to this writing retreat, please let him say that there is only one spot left.”

A few minutes later I emailed him. I kid you not, not even 10 minutes later he replies with, “ There’s one spot left.” I could cry!!

I woke up my husband who was sound asleep (sorry babe) and told him what had just happened. Through his grogginess he told me to chase the dream and that we would figure out a way to pay for it. Talk about husband of the year!

Fast forward to last week, I flew into Boston, got to see my grandma whose been really sick in the hospital (the Lord timed this trip so perfectly so I could even be there for that) and I drove to Vermont.

I got to meet people who shared the same dream, we encouraged one another and left with full tummies and full hearts!

So thankful for this opportunity, for the new friends I made, and to Jeff Bethke for making this happen!

Now that you all know about this, I’m writing a book y’all! Eeek! I’m so excited and scared all at the same time, but trusting God for the words to write!
