Make Heaven Crowded
A few nights ago my husband and I hosted a game night. What we thought would be just a group of maybe 5-10 of us turned into a group of almost 20. I’m not going to lie to you, the panic started to settle when I realized how many people were coming. I started to worry about whether we were going to have enough snacks or enough room for people to move around our home comfortably. All in all the night was a blast and everyone seemed to have fun. No one made comments about it being too stuffy or there not being enough snacks (almost everyone brought something to share thankfully)!
For some reason, this got me thinking about the phrase, “make heaven crowded.” I’ve seen it on a T-shirt before, but honestly never gave it much thought until now. Until that game night. I went down a rabbit hole of deep thought (something I do pretty often) and began to imagine what it would be like in Heaven with a much larger crowd. Everyone happily moving around not caring about what kind of food there is, or how many people there are, but just so overjoyed to be there.
But y'all, I’ve got to admit something to you. I haven’t been doing my part in bringing more people to know Jesus. I was really good at this while I was gone on missions, but haven’t really done it much since being back in the states. The thing is if I want to see Heaven crowded then I need to start telling more people about Jesus and what makes Him worth pursuing..
Think of it in terms of a party. People are not going to care to go to someone’s party if they don’t know who lives there! They aren’t even going to know how to get there if someone doesn’t give them an invitation in the first place! But they are more likely to go if they get introduced to the host. If they realize that that person really wants them there and honestly would do anything to have them. Even go as far as dying for them on a cross!
So I’ve decided that I am done with being afraid. For so long I’ve only shared my experiences with the Lord with people I feel I could trust. Because honestly, I don’t think some people would believe some of the things I have to say, but that ends today.
For the next little while I will be sharing a series of blog posts about characteristics of Jesus that I love the most, experiences I have had with Him and others have had with Him as well. Buckle up, grab some tea and get ready. Let me tell you about my Jesus, like the song says!
